I have been quite busy & once you get this far behind with blogging its so hard to catch back up! I will just try & post a few pictures with the last couple of months I missed with a description under them! Once I can catch back up to today's date then I will hopefully never get this far behind again! Hope everyone enjoys the pictures! =)
February-Valentine's Day Gilbert took me to Panama City Beach for dinner on Valentine's Day! He then surprised me with a massage & facial as my gift :) February was a month of preparing for March! You'll know what I mean by the next post!
One of the many times I go to Walmart in a day, I'm walking passed the hardware supplies and had a brilliant idea I was going to paint the kitchen. I get home to tell Gilbert & figure out what color & go back to buy the paint. The next day we made a deal one person cleans the house & the other paints the kitchen. I thought to myself real fast I'll clean you paint! =) Everyone knows I have OCD and love cleaning so I thought I'd take the easy way out in that one! My easy way out turned into a hard day of cleaning. I felt like I worked so hard I did Spring Cleaning! It took me literally my whole Sunday!! Gilbert did an amazing job at picking out the color & painting. I took a break from my cleaning & ran to the store & bought another picture to hang in the kitchen and everything turned out P-E-R-F-E-C-T! I asked when we were painting the living room next and he looked at me & laughed and said, "Next time I'll clean & you can paint". I guess his job wasn't so easy either! All said & done I think it looks pretty good though. What do you think of the before and after?
P.S. Thank you Grandma for the knife set & toaster as you can see they are up in the kitchen! You did a great job at picking them out! I love all of it!
For Christmas break I decided to go back home to Portage to visit my family and friends. The day of my arrival wasn't very good since Gilbert and I flew into a snow storm. We had a layover & unfortunately were stuck on the runway in Chicago O'hare for over 2 hours due to the frozen lanes and having to unfreeze the planes. When I finally made it to my Moms house it was around 3 a.m. and I was supposed to have been there at 10:00 p.m. so I was beat! The next day it was Christmas Eve so of course I had some last minute shopping to do since I didn't want to pay to take my gifts on the plane. Can you believe for 2 pieces of luggage I paid $40.00 dollars each way?! I tried packing only one bag but it was impossible! Christmas day I spent with my family & Gilbert's having wonderful dinners and just spending quality time together. If I would of spent Christmas in Florida I would of had a sunny day but of course it was a snowy one back home. I guess you cant have Christmas without it being a White Christmas right?! The next day we drove to Ohio to have my Moms family Christmas at my Grandmas. When I arrived I found out my Grandpa Perry was in the hospital from phenomena so I went to visit him before we had our Christmas dinner. All my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins were at my Grandparents house for our traditional dinner. My Great Grandma was able to make it too which was exciting. I'm very lucky to still have her with me to this day. We were only able to stay one night because my Mom had to work the next day, so our trip was short but well worth it! The rest of the trip was visiting with friends. I was home for a 12 days and still it was not long enough to see everyone I had planned on. You would think 12 days is a long time but it went fast with how busy I was with the holidays. For New Years Eve Gilbert and another couple went to dinner with us at a great restaurant called Gauchos. After dinner we went to our friends & counted down till the New Year with them. I cant believe its already 2009! I had a great time with everyone back home and I'm sorry I didn't get to see everyone that I would of liked too. Here are some pictures from the trip that I posted to share with everyone.
Sorry I haven't been able to post the holidays kept me really busy with all the traveling I did. For everyone that was so patience with wondering who Flat Jordan is now I can finally tell the story! Two months ago my Aunt Cindy called me and asked if I have ever heard of Flat Stanley and if I would volunteer to help my cousin Jordan with his school project. Of course I wanted to do whatever it was to help but I had no Idea who Flat Stanley was! She tried explaining it to me but I was still a little confused by what I was supposed to be doing. I got online and researched & called her back to tell her I'd love to help! I will so my best to explain the story. Jordan's teacher was doing a project where the kids in the class color & cut out a drawing of themselves. This little character of themselves had been smashed flat and that's why its called Flat & then the name of the student. Each kid in the class was assigned to pick 3 friends or family members that lived out of the state where they are from (Ohio), to have Flat Jordan travel around from state to state. He was sent to my mom in Indiana & myself in Florida and another friend in Florida. When Flat Jordan arrived we did lots of things while he was here. I took him to see the Destin Christmas Tree & he helped me do my shopping. He also was lucky to travel with me to Jacksonville to see my Dad for 3 days. We did a lot of activities together while he was with me for 2 weeks. I thought it was a great idea for kids do with as a class. When I had to send him back to my cousins school everyone had a great time reading about all of our adventures & the pictures.
When I was in Jacksonville I had a great time seeing my Dad. It had been way to long since the last time I saw him. He was there for a work meeting so we didn't get to spend as much time as I liked together but the little time we did was great! Everyone couldn't believe that I drove 5 hours for 2 1/2 days but to see any one of my parents I wouldn't miss it for the world! Thanks for everything Dad & the wonderful time I had spending with you & meeting a lot of important people in your life. Love You!
I only have a few pictures left of Flat Jordan on my camera some got deleted by mistake and unfortunately I only took one picture with my Dad =( Of course I took some pictures of myself on the drive to Jacksonville since it was a long & boring drive by myself!
