CRAZY BUSY & BEHiND!!!
Sorry the blog hasn't been updated in awhile its been crazy in my house. I thought Gilbert was getting better but he likes to trick me with these 2 days hes good and then its back to being sick. The Gastroenteritis he has been seeing finally decided that they are going to do surgery on him next week December 11th to check for an ulcer. Hopefully we will find some answers to what is going on with him inside. Besides having a sick one finals week is 3 days away and I cant believe it!! I've almost completed my first semester here in Florida. I remember like it was yesterday when I was saying goodbye to my friends and family! Time is just flying by me nowadays. I will have some posts soon with a friend that is staying with me called Flat Jordan. My dad is also coming to Jacksonville for a week on a work trip so I will be going to visit him next week Monday. Stay tuned :)

HAPPY THANKSGiViNG!
This year I had Thanksgiving Day a little early when my family was here to visit me. My Grandparents and Mom cooked me a wonderful dinner. It was nice to have my first
turkey dinner in my new apartment with the ones I care about. Today is actually Thanksgiving Day and even though I wont be eating turkey I'm still going to have a great dinner. Today I will be thinking about all things I'm thankful for in my life. I wish that I could spend today with my family but soon enough I will be home for Christmas to share that day with them. To be exact I will be home in 26 days =) Here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving Dinner.
P.S. HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE!!!

FAMiLY ViSiTS ME!
I'm a little behind due to a sickness in the house. Gilbert has been in & out of the Emergency room all weekend so that put me back on being able to write. He is finally starting to feel better. It's been 10 days of this horrible virus he had. Thank goodness for him feeling like him self today! Hopefully its all over & done with!
My family came to visit me all last week! I had such a great time with everyone. The first night Gilbert & I took my Mom & Dean to Baytowne for dinner & some live music. We spent a lot of time talking catching up with what we have missed in these passed 3 months. After dinner we walked around & took them down the marina walk and boy oh boy that walk was long. The next day it was so gorgeous out we walked around Harbor Walk along the Gulf of Mexico and had lunch. I got my mom to drink a fish bowl & she loved it just like I did. ;) hehe. My grandparents came to town Monday night so after class we all went out to dinner again. Man by now I'm gaining a ton of weight with all this eating out!! But trust me it was all good & worth every bite! I went over to my moms one night at her place & Dean cooked out for us. If you Dean then you know he can cook a good meal!! Yummm! One of the days we laid out by the pool it was beautiful out. Can you believe we sun tanned outside in November? (I love Florida) Can't get any better than that right? Before my family all headed back home they made me a Thanksgiving dinner because I won't be able to spend it with them back home this year. We had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes & much more. It was delicious! I had such a great week with everyone! Thanks again for everything Mom, Dean, Grandma, and Grandpa!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
It's the day before Halloween and you know me I still don't have a costume. My friends keep asking me if I'm going to go out with them and I say yes but I keep thinking I better get a costume so I don't stick out like a sore thumb! I shopped around a few places and didn't find anything for a reasonable price. I had one more store to look at and hoped I was going to go home with a costume. Finally the last one I tried on fit me. I was going to be a pirate! Gilbert as well found one while we were there but I'm not sure what his was called. Now it's Friday night-HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We decided that back home we usually always go to house parties or college parties. This year it was going to be a little different since we weren't back home we went to the bars & clubs. We started out walking along the Harbor Walk and listening to the band play. We then met up with Whitney,Heather,Carly & Haley and went over to the new Club Aqua. It was a lot of fun listening & dancing to the music plus everyone in their costumes was very entertaining! By then end of the night my feet were killing me from my hills so I had to go home. It was a fun night out dressing up & plus you can really only do it once a year! HAPPY HALLOWEEN to everyone!

SEAFOOD & MULLET FEST.
Two weekends ago there was a festival here called the Seafood Fest. (yuck)! If you know me then you sure know I'm a VERY picky eater & seafood is the number one thing you will not get me to eat. I guess I wasn't really going for the food more or less to check it out and something to do. Well Gilbert & I didn't think it was that great so we decided to just walk around because it was a beautiful night. We came across a neat bar to sit down and watch some football. Well of course then I wanted to try a drink I came across on the menu called a "FiSH BOWL". When Gilbert told me it was going to be literally a "FiSH BOWL" I was thinking ya. okay! Well when the waitress dropped off my drink he was sure right about my drink. I was thinking to myself holly crap that's a lot to drink all by myself. Well I didn't finish it because I probably would of had a horrible next morning but it was good! Last weekend there was another festival in Niceville where I go to school called the Mullet Fest. I wasn't to sure about a festival being named that but a "Mullet" is a type of fish, and I didn't know that. I heard from a group of people around campus that it was better than the Seafood Fest so we went to it as well. This festival was HUGE. We had a gulf cart drive us up to the entrance because the walk would have been like a mile. Thank god for that driver! We walked around for awhile & listened to a country singer sing & then my legs had enough. I forgot to bring the camera so no pictures unfortunately.

CHEERS TO NEW FRiENDS!
I'm a very outgoing person but for some reason it has taken me a little longer to open up and meet new friends. Finally I have been able to overcome that fear, and I'm so happy because now I have a great group of friends. Last weekend we all went out to a few different clubs and ate at the Waffle House after. The Waffle House is a huge deal here in the South. McDonald's isn't even open 24 hours here because of it. I was very upset about that too when I first moved here. I met Whitney in my Ethics class and her friend Heather is in it too with us. The other girls Holly, Lauren, & Carly are their friends as well & Whitney introduced me to them. We had a few drinks and said "CHEERS TO NEW FRIENDS"!! Last night Carly & Heather took me to Baytowne for free drinks!! Baytowne is it's own private community with a little town in the back. When I was having a drink I noticed I was looking out into the Gulf Of Mexico which was beautiful! I'm sure there will be more nights of these with more pictures! :)

NEW HAiR COLOR
Today I decided it was time for a makeover! I've had the same hair color for 21 years and I was tired of it. I was a little nervous but now that its over with I love it! I put a darker brown with a tint of red in it. I'm actually going back to ULTA to get one more shade darker of brown in it so the red won't be as bright. Hope everyone likes it :)
PS. Here is the new hair color all done. Not as red anymore a lot darker.

CAR ACCiDENT!
Welcome to the Sunshine State Krista! I had a nice welcoming 9/22/08 while I was on my way to school for a fun day of classes. I was about 5 miles from the campus when I was at a stop light waiting for the light to turn green when all of sudden...BOOM a huge white truck rear ended me. I got out of the car and couldn't believe what had just happened. I started to panic because now I'm in the middle of traffic with a green light. I pull over to the side of the road and it was an older man that hit me. He told me he was messing around on his phone (texting). I was in Okaloosa County and
a county worker was the guy in the truck that had hit me. I started to have tears and just couldn't believe this had happened. This was now my second car accident where the other person was at fault and I was going to school. Maybe that's a sign to stop going to school! (I wish) ha. The guy didn't want me calling the cops but of course I did. His supervisor came and took his truck away from him when the cops left. I then drove myself to the Emergency Room and sat there for 6 hours by myself. It was the worst experience ever! Thankfully I just have to do physical therapy for my back and It wasn't worse. I'm out of work for a month but therapy is sure keeping me busy!

NEW ADDiTiON TO MY FAMiLY!
When I first moved to Destin, Florida from Northwest Indiana I was lonely at first. I was going to a new school and lived in a new town where I knew no one. All my friends were back home and I started to get home sick sooner than I thought. I was always told if you had a pet it was like having a best friend. I had never really believed that statement was true since my mom was not a big fan of animals. That day I decided I needed to go out and go pet shopping. I went to the animal shelter first and yes they dogs were cute but one was not really standing out to me. My last hope was pet land. This is where I fell in love with my new dog Bailey. He is a bichon poodle and weighs 4.7 lbs. You always see movies where the kids are looking in the windows at the cute puppies and begging their parents for that puppy behind the window. .well that puppy was my Bailey. I fell in love with him. When they brought him out to me he melted my heart by his personality. I didn't care how much he was I knew that he was the one and I wanted him. The day I brought him home it was like to good to be true! He really is the best dog ever. He went on his puppy pad the minute he got home. I couldn't of picked a better dog. He really is my best friend too. There are nights when I get sad and lonely and he knows it because every time he comes up to me and wont stop kissing me. Bailey $900 His kisses-PRICELESS. For everyone that has never had a pet and always wanted one I suggest you get one.
P.S. And for all my family members that are Buckeye Fans Bailey is one too now with his new jersey. My mom comes in 22 days to visit me and I think she is going to love it. He also has an IU one on the way too!! :)
